With the easing of State Government restrictions to allow contact sport and group gatherings of up to 100 people from tomorrow, Saturday June 6, the WAFC will be working with all junior football competitions, clubs, umpires and volunteers to help finalise their safe return to play after the July school holidays.

An Update from the W.A.F.C

Yesterday’s announcement by the State Government that restrictions will be eased further from next Saturday June 6th to allow contact sport and group gatherings of up to 100 people, is great news for community football in Western Australia as we work towards a full return to play.

As a result, the WAFC will be updating its Return to Play Guidelines ahead of next weekend and working with all football competitions across Western Australia to help finalise their return to play dates.

Return to Training...

22nd May 2020

Hello Parents and Guardians,

Attached is some information from WAFC for players, coaches and especially parents whilst at training during this COVID-19 situation.  Training at the Club has been split into two groups (teams) of 20 on the oval at any one time, which does not include parent spectators.  After this Pandemic is over and the restrictions eased, the Club wishes parents to return to training then.

We are not too far away from things being back to normal.

Thanks for your assistance.

Community Football Timeline Update

19th April 2020

Community football timeline update

The West Australian Football Commission, as part of a national working group including the AFL and other State football bodies, this week received an update on the anticipated timeline for community football to recommence.

WAFC CEO Gavin Taylor said that while the exact date remained unconfirmed, a level of certainty had been provided about the actions and next steps that will be taken.

“While community football remains postponed until May 31st, the situation is constantly being monitored and it is anticipated there will be a further update on the timeline at the end of April,” he said.

“The conditions relevant to the May 31st postponement, whereby football club training and matches are not permitted, remain in place at this point in time.”

“We certainly haven’t given up on this season and, along with all participants and fans, are excited for footy to start again as soon as possible. We will be ready to go when the green light is given, knowing that footy will play a huge part in reconnecting communities right across WA.”

Community Football Postponed

17th March 2020

The WAFC in line with the AFL and the State League has postponed the Auskick and Junior season for 2020 until 31 May 2020 due to the coronavirus situation.
This means there will be no Auskick, no junior training, no game days, no meetings with players and no events at the Aveley JFC clubrooms and oval until 31 May 2020.

I thank you for your support and the club will proceed to make sure everything is organised and ready to go for the new start date.

I shall notify all when I have further information.

Kind regards
Aveley JFC
