JUNIOR REGISTRATIONS 2022

The Junior teams (Mod’s – Year 3 to Year 6) of the club play modified rules and play all teams in the Swan Districts Zone on a Sunday morning and train between once or twice a week. Home games and training will take place at Turkich Parade Oval , Bolero Road, Aveley. Away games will be played at the oppositions home ground and are pre-determined at the beginning of the season.

Youth teams (Year 7+) of the club play full AFL rules on a Sunday for premiership points for the home and away season. Finals are played if eligible.

The Aveley Avengers Junior Football Club is committed to providing children the opportunity to enjoy the experience of learning to play Australian Rules Football, to socialise with other children and enjoy being part of a family club. The Club encourages the involvement of all parents as a means of continuing to build our community family club culture.

CODE OF CONDUCT!

The Aveley Junior Football Club Inc. (Aveley JFC) has a mandatory Code of Conduct approved by the full committee, that all players, parents and coaches must comply with. Breach of the Code of Conduct may result in reduced playing time or your registration membership withdrawn by the Club.

The Aveley Junior Football Club Code of Conduct is mandatory and enforceable. The following code applies to
all officials, volunteers, members and supporters.

Coaches Code of Conduct: Be a ‘good sport’ coach

Promote the laws and rules of our game;
Maximise enjoyment before winning;
Group players competitively and develop their confidence;
Avoid the trap of overplaying talented players just to win;
Ensure player welfare as a priority – above winning!
Remember the age of your team – keep things in perspective;
Lead the way with respect for opponents, umpires and officials;
Attain coaching accreditation and keep up with new ideas;
Avoid aggressive behaviour and derogatory and insulting language – set the right example.

Players Code of Conduct: Be a ‘good sport’ player

Play by the rules – the rules of your club and the laws of the game;
Never argue with an umpire or other official – without these people you can’t play football;
Control your temper – you will gain real respect;
Be a team player – team win games not individuals;
Treat all players as you would like to be treated – fairly;
Cooperate with your coach, the umpires and team-mates;
Play for your own enjoyment and to improve your skills;
Don’t use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability – you’ll let down your coach, team-mates
and family if you do – and many such comments are actually now illegal.

Parents and Supporters: Be a ‘good sport’ parent or supporter

Remember that you are there for the participants to enjoy the game;
Encourage participation, but don’t force it;
Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning;
Encourage an understanding of the rules by showing a genuine interest;
Never ridicule mistakes or losses – supporters are there to support not downgrade;
Lead by example and respect all players, coaches, umpires and spectators – physical or verbal abuse will
not be tolerated;
Actively and freely give up valuable time to participate in volunteering activities as requested by AJFC
from time to time;
Recognise all volunteers who are giving up their valuable time;
Never publicly criticise umpires – raise personal concerns with club officials in private;
AJFC from time to time are fortunate to have the services of an official umpire for our junior/youth
games. With that in mind, we remind all players, parents supporters and officials of the club expectations
with regards to Supporting Umpires of Junior Football;

**Aveley Junior Football Club Coaches and Spectators, must also be aware of the following policy released by the WA Football Commission Central Conference**

E-POINT SYSTEM

The purpose of the E-Point system is to weight game day behaviour with the same importance as winning a match and reward teams for displaying positive game day behaviour. The system deters players, coaches and parents from engaging in negative game day behaviour prior to it taking place.

A maximum of Four (4) E-Points are awarded per team per game played. The team’s behaviour (including that of players, team officials, support staff and spectators) will determine if these E-Points will remain.
One (1) E-Point will be removed for every YELLOW card received by each participating team on game day.
Two (2) E-Points will be removed for every RED card received by each participating team on game day.
If any Player, Team Official, Support Staff or Spectator is suspended for 1 match or more, then Two (2) E-Points automatically will be removed from the offending team.
For any policy, rule, regulation or code of conduct breach relating to inappropriate game day behaviour the offending team will be removed, up to Four (4) E-Points per game as determined by the WAFC.
****This model replaces Blue Card system. There is no second chances. If spectators/coaches’ boxes are reported for poor game behaviour, expect E-Points removed.
Junior Teams (Year 3-6) can expect bonds and fines.

PENALTY – A Player, Parent or Club Member may be suspended from the Club if found in breach of this Code of Conduct. Handed down by the Executive Committee of the Club.

Players, parents and coaches will have this Code of Conduct explained again, at an early training session and asked to sign it. This will give you the opportunity to ask questions.
